[SM-USERS] ERROR : Bad or malformed request.

Greetings.

I've installed Squirrelmail 1.2.10 on an SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 server with PHP 4.3.0 running as a dso (not cgi as per INSTALL) under apache 1.3.26.

The imap server is under SCO as well: IMAP4 Service 8.3(144) (no idea what this means).

The imap server works well using Netscape, Pegasus, Mozilla, lookout, etc.

I seem to have to login to Squirrelmail (SM) twice; login , get error message that I must be logged in, go back to login screen, hit login button again, logs in. Weird.

But the real problem is that after login I get the error message:

ERROR : Bad or malformed request.
Query:
Server responded: Bogus attribute list in FETCH

This is the same error as was reported by another person back in Sept 2002 as noted on the list archives. I could find no reply to that user's request for help.

The syslog file shows:

Feb 10 21:21:50 tauron imapd[29010]: Logout user=frank host=localhost

I did a test telnet session to port 143 using some of the commands explaind in the IMAPD4rev1 rfc.

As far as I could tell, the FETCH command worked ok.

Sample:

a003 fetch 1 body[header]
a003 OK FETCH completed
a004 fetch 1 body
* 1 FETCH (BODY ("TEXT" "PLAIN" ("CHARSET" "US-ASCII") NIL NIL "7BIT" 133 4)
a004 OK FETCH completed

I can send email from SM no problem, I just can't read my mail.

If anyone could point me in the right direction to troubleshoot this, I'd sure appreciate it. Be aware that I'm NOT a C programmer. COBOL yes, C no.
