I tried
logging on as Muckleroy instead of muckleroy. It gave me an error about being able to WRITE to the prefs
directory. I changed the owner of
directory prefs to root:root and now everything works. Go figure… Thanks for the help -----Original

not sure, your permissions look good. for fun, why not try 777 on both
the prefs directory AND the files in it. looks like every thing is owned
