The javascript setting by default is set to "Auto", that means that if
the login page doesn't set in the session the javascript settings,
which means it defaults to Off. You can force the option by going to
the Options, Display Preferences, and changing the Javascript setting
to "On" which will save it in your user preferences.

  Auto = Run javascript test on login page.
  Off  = Always shut javascript code off.
  On   = Always turn it on.

As the login_auto plugin uses a "Header" call, you cannot send the
javascript test (header will fail if data sent already).
