You really should look at HTML-Kit, I tried all of the following and have found HTML-Kit to me quite nice.

TextPad v4.7 Vim v6.2 EditPlus v2.11 UltraEdit v9.10a I am currently trying Vim and EditPlus and am impressed already. I will also trial the others in a couple of weeks. Vim looks like it will be the most difficult to use but as it is charityware. It is the one I will try to master and keep as my main editor :) I will also use plain notepad some of the time (as suggested by Andre). I have been using this exclusively for html for some time now, though I only write very basic pages.
