Opps. I didn't realize it came with SM. I found the plugin on the SM page
in the Plugins/Miscellaneous section. It's called mail_fetchmail, and the
latest version is 0.4. Sounds like it needs to be moved the "Obsolete"
section.

Ok, I nuked the plugin I installed, and untarred the one that came in the
SM tarball and put it in place. However, I don't have the option to
"remove from server when removed from client" or some such option that's
similar. Do I need to do some manual editting of either my own prefs file
or the main config file to clean up the remnants of the old plugin I
installed?

FYI, these are all the options I get for a POP account:

Server:
Port:
Alias:
Username:
Password:

Store in Folder:
Leave Mail on Server
Check mail during login
Check mail during folder refresh

This looks exactly like the old plugin I had. Something didn't get wiped
clean when I removed the bogus plugin, I just have no idea where it is or
how to clean it up.

Thanks for any (continuing) help!
