Has onyone successfully installed this combination? How did you do it? The biggest part of the problem is that apache 1.3.x n OpenBSD comes chroot'ed. PHP4.3.4 works fine, I can run phpinfo(?) test and see all compiled options.
However, defining data and attachment directories inside of the chroot (/var/www/squirrelmail/data and /var/www/squirrelmail/attach), produces 'Unable to open or write prefs file'. Setting chmod 777 on these directories doesn't fix the issue. In addition 'SM_PATH' in all php code gets broken and I had to specify the full path to the installation directory, i.e. /var/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/plugins/vadmin/ etc. I am trying to upgrade SM 1.2.11 to 1.4.x branch, but my admins got used to creating users in vadmin. I'd hate bothering the author of the plugin if the problem turns out to be a simple one that I overlooked. Any help or pointers are appreciated. Thanks!
