Hey Denis, I am not running vadmin, but I'm running SquirrelMail 1.4.2 on OpenBSD 3.3-STABLE without any issues (3.3 also chroots Apache). All I did was install SM within /var/www/htdocs, chown and chmod the data and attach directories to be writable by www, and it Just Works(tm).
