[SM-USERS] 530 POP and 535 login failed errors

I just setup SquirrelMail and I am having a problem sending email.  I am running Apache, PHP 4.3.4, Mercury mail and the current stable SquirrelMail distro.  I am able to send AND receive email from Mercury Mail if I use Outlook Express.  I can login to SM, using EITHER 'USER' or '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'.  I can retrieve my email from within SM OK.  If I reply or try to send an email I get:   Authentication required Server replied: 530 POP authenticate before sending emails.   This is when SM SMTP settings is set to 'NONE'   If I change SMTP to 'LOGIN'   I get a 535 Login Failed.   Any clues?   I tried allowing relaying on my mail server to be set to anyone and still no luck. *********************************************************************** DISCLAIMER: The information transmitted may contain confidential material and is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed.
