John,

With a subject line like that, you're asking for flames. :)

I suggest a more subtle subject, since we who spend countless hours on this product in our *spare time* don't always appreciate what feels like whining (especially when, as you'll see below, the whining was misinformed/wrong).

- the fact that you get logged out when you load another website in
another window (only happens sometimes)

Possibly PHP misconfiguration? Old SM version? You include no information about your system so we can help you debug this problem. That's not a typical problem with SM that I know of.

- the fact that it goes back to the message list after you have deleted an
open message

Try the delete_move_next plugin. This is old hat.

- you can't search for text strings

Uh, have you clicked the search link at the top of your screen? If you want more complex search options, try the 1.5 development series.

- you can't can't sort by date, Re:, etc

Uh, have you tried clicking on the icon next to the date column header? Maybe *you* can't sort, but the rest of us can.

- there is no spellcheck

I am beginning to think you are a troll. There is a spell check plugin that comes with the standard install. Please read the documentation and the web site more thoroughly before posting.

- there is no personal spam filter

This is your responsibility. SM is only a mail client, not a server side mail system. However, there actually *are* spam filtering capabilities in SM under the filters plugin, but you are encouraged to look into installing something like SpamAssassin on your own and then using one of the SM SpamAssassin plugins to interface with it.

- you can't create html e-mails and if you forward an HTML e-mail you have
received, it forwards it as text

Of these two points: 1) HTML_Mail plugin 2) you're correct, you'll have to wait it out for now.

- you can't file an e-mail in a folder while message is open

Seriously, are you a troll? :) Delete_move_next plugin. You get it in your standard installation.

- sometimes you cannot file attached files. If you click "file", it only
opens the attachment as if you had clicked "view"

Sounds like your web server might be badly configured, but you'll need to be better at providing details:

All this wastes so much time for me.

You should have used that time to read more about the product.

By the way, I LOVE the fact that you are screened from images until you
click the View Unsafe Images Link.

Hey - maybe you're not a troll after all!

:)

 - Paul
