Is it possible to completely turn off any focusing in the compose/reply
window? One machine I use takes ages to finish loading the window for some
reason which means the onload Javascript to change the focus is executed
well after I've started typeing my message. I would rather do my own
focussing. I see there is an option to turn off Javascript, what other
Javascript does this affect?

As of last evening, cvs has a new "no focus" option for the reply focus selection that, when chosen, affects the compose screen when creating new mails as well as replies. You may have to wait a day or two for it to get to anon cvs.
