It's my first post to this list about this great Webmail. My question is if there is a way to authenticate users direct against an LDAP server, not using the default behaviour (using IMAP).
No. IMAP should be authenticating against whereever your user account data is.
I know there are some plugins to retreive user info from LDAP (Retreive User Data plugins, LDAP address book, ...), but it's not what I am looking for. I want to authenticate users in LDAP and then avoid or not them access the webmail.
Are you saying your IMAP server is wide open? Very strange. SM is an IMAP client, there's no way around that.
