hello guys
i'm in real trouble with squirrelmail. first of all it works *perfectly* from the inside (at home), but when i try to connect to the engine on my home server from the outside (with a dyndns.org account) it won't work at all. every time i get the error 'beat.funk.net' (=the internal name of the server at home) does not exist/resolve. i changed *every* "localhost" entry i could find in the squirrelmail config files to the correct domainname, but this does not change anything. squirrelmail insist connecting to the wrong domain. how can i fix this? after hours of searching and experimenting i can not fix it :( i looked in the faq, documentation, asked on irc, on newsgroups, but nobody answers) .
i need to know why squirrel insists on connecting to the wrong domain. check it out yourself: http://funkie.dyndns.org/squirrelmail , you will notice it insists connecting to beat.funk.net. how do i change that?
You are not very clear with details (what web server, version of php, version of squirrelmail, ...) but as a wild guess, do you have the Apache server diretive ServerName set to 'funkie.dyndns.org' or to 'beat.funk.net'? For external access to work reliably it has to be 'funkie.dyndns.org'.
please help me out on this. i have really no idea what is causing this. it's probably a stupid mistake but i don't see it :(
