Hi Paul,
I'm having difficulty getting Calendar 2.1 to work properly. After I disable the old calendar and enable 2.1 I see 2 personal Calendars. I
2.0.1
then export events from the Personal Calendar containing events, and then try to import these entries into the new Personal Calendar. But EVERYTIME I try this it just adds them back into the old personal calendar
please delete that calendar before you re-import the events.
so I get duplicate entries. I tried this a few times, using both Personal calendars as the target, but it ALWAYS adds them to the Old personal calendar.
you can make changes in the exported file, but let's try that after you follow my advice above
Further, I tried deleting the old personal calendar from the Calendar interface, but now when I try to import the entries to the remaining personal calendar I get the following error:
ERROR IN CALENDAR FILE BACKEND (cal_file_get_calendar_do): cannot find calendar file for calendar ID sm_cal_joel__zuck_com
ok, good. did you select "synch/merge" and select "Personal" calendar in the drop-down list (don't select "auto")?
I then created a new Calendar using the Calendar Admin interface, then tried to import into that new calendar with the same results:
ERROR IN CALENDAR FILE BACKEND (cal_file_get_calendar_do): cannot find calendar file for calendar ID sm_cal_joel__zuck_com
At this point I'm not sure what I should do. Have you any ideas as to why I am having this difficulty?
well if all else fails, you can probably edit the file you exported and remove the X-WR-CALNAME, X-WR-RELCALID, X-SQ-CALID, and X-SQ-CALNAME. that might help.

Never heard of that problem. You can feel free to send a copy of the event. BUT, this shouldn't interfere with migrating events: you don't need to go into the month view at all -- just *export* the calendar, remove it, and reimport the exported file, merging it with the personal calendar. If the monthly problem still happens after that, let me know.

I'll figure it out, but wanted you to know that when I tried to open my old calendar (the one with the "Remove" link), because I wanted to move events from that calendar to the new one, the month display would stop on the day that had a repeating event scheduled in it. This would happen for every month that continued to have that repeating event (ie. if my repeating event re-occurred on May 3rd, only 3 days would be displayed for the month of may). If it helps, or if you are even interested, my repeating event was an Every 3 Weeks event.
So this obviously makes it difficult for me to move all my currently scheduled events over to the new calendar. But I'll figure it out. I was just buzzing ya cuz I thought you could save me time. But I've taken enough of yours... Good luck, and thanx for the help till now....

Hi Paul,
Should I be able to use my current personal calendar file with the new version 2.01? I tried and ran into a number of problems (mainly with repeating entires). I reverted back to the previously installed version for now.
Yes, it is compatible. The only "repeating" entry should be the possibility that your personal calendar will seem to show twice. Make sure there are no events you want to save in the one that has the remove link next to it (export them if there are) and then remove that one. Otherwise, there should be no difference.
