my mind the MUA should present the same interface to the user
regardless of what IMAP server it's using.  If, for example, you're
using two different IMAP servers with your MUA it would be rather
confusing to see a different way of handling your mailboxes depending
on what server you're using.

Yes, but by the time you've discovered it can be turned off the damage
has been done, there are Trash and Draft folders all over the place.
Have everything turned off by default would be my preference.
