Hello, This is my first post to the list.
Here is my question: What can I do to eliminate or at least reduce my spam score on the emails I send? What settings can I change in squirrelmail so that my mail is not tagged as spam? For instance, just by changing the email priority control in the config.php file to false ($default_use_priority = false;) my spam score went from this (my email account at work - not squirrelmail - has a spam filter of some kind): SPAM: -------------------- Anti-Spam Report ---------------------- SPAM: SPAM: YES, score=6.2 threshold=4.0 SPAM: SPAM: Hit! DCC ( 0.0 pts) [Distributed Checksum Score] SPAM: Hit! BAYES (86.4%) ( 4.2 pts) [Bayesian SPAM confidence] SPAM: Hit! PRIORITY_NOMAIL ( 1.0 pt ) [Message has a priority but no mailer] SPAM: Hit! ODDRCVD ( 1.0 pt )['head' matched '/Received: from [0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+[\r\n]/i'] SPAM: ----------------- End of Anti-Spam Report ------------------- to this: SPAM: -------------------- Anti-Spam Report ---------------------- SPAM: SPAM: YES, score=4.9 threshold=4.0 SPAM: SPAM: Hit! DCC ( 0.0 pts) [Distributed Checksum Score] SPAM: Hit! BAYES (84.3%) ( 3.9 pts) [Bayesian SPAM confidence] SPAM: Hit! ODDRCVD ( 1.0 pt )['head' matched '/Received: from [0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+[\r\n]/i'] SPAM: ----------------- End of Anti-Spam Report ------------------- I'm just wondering what other settings I can change to improve it even futher. I'm running SquirrelMail 1.4.5. Thanks, Danny ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop!
