You can't send mail through POP3, of course.

What exactly do you get when you do this:

   telnet yourmailhost 110

i.e. can you show the exact login banner that you see? (reason: to ensure
that you are running courier-imap and not something else)

Are you using authdaemond? I expect you'll have two sets of 5 daemons
running, one set for sqwebmail and one for courier-imap. If so, it may be
worth restarting the sqwebmail authdaemond and see if that helps.

A number of people have reported authdaemond problems, although I use it
with LDAP and it seems to be fine (possibly with the exception of what
happens when the LDAP server is temporarily down)

I also don't use vpopmail but there are known problems with versions less
than the most recent.
