If you really want that host to send mail from domain.com not
host.domain.com then, maybe make that server the primary ip. IE
domain.com = xxx.yyy.zzz.111
rather than
host.domain.com = xxx.yyy.zzz.111
Then mail will be sent with the domain as the host.
