I'm not sure what you mean by "map"...  If you use Courier IMAP, it uses the same Maildir extensions for implementing folders as SqWebmail (same author).  I have them both running, and have no problems with folders.  Both applications see them the same way.  I don't know about other IMAP servers that use Maildir, though.
