Yeah that is annoying to me also that it is checked by default.
I use the following HTML changes on the logon.html, invalid.html and
expired.html in /usr/local/share/sqwebmail/en-us/

<td align="right" valign="top"><input type="checkbox" name="sameip" value="OFF"></td>

notice the value="OFF"
