as a note: user has a semicolon in pword. is this a limitation of
authdaemon?

if i ./authtest uid pword_with_semicolon it fails..

if i ./authtest uid "pword_with_semicolon" it authenticates, but me thinks
this is a shell issue...however, the web interface also fails..

tried hunting through authdaemond.c, but got a headache....the indenting
throws me off ;-)

any suggestions?
