Actually, this really isn't a courier-imap issue unless there is something in the RFC that states that certain characters can't be used for folder names (even then Netscape shouldn't allow it either if that's the case). The problem is with sqwebmail in that it is unable to parse the subfolder because, well, there really isn't a subfolder, someone just thought they would abbreviate something with a period at the end.
