GDBM_SYNC(MODE) (default in 1.8.0), GDBM_NOLOCK and GDBM_FAST (obsolete
in 1.8.0) all do no change to my situation.
It works well in contrast on the much slower Intel Celeron computer I
use as workstation.
Maybe it's really the combination of NFS and drbd. I now try to trace
the system calls down. By substituting /usr/lib/cgi-bin/sqwebmail by
a shell script with gperf (well haven't use it much before, hope this helps me).
Do you have any other idea?
