This problem is with SQWebmail (3.4.0.20021026).

I would like to know if this has been identified by the developers.
No problem has been identified.

If not I would be happy to help them to see this problem does exist.
If you want to poke around, you need to grab the latest build off the download pages.

The only recent changes to attachment handling code was the addition of character set and language metadata to attachment filenames, as defined by RFC 2231.

Applications that do not support RFC 2231-encoded MIME metadata will not be able to read the default attachment filenames any more. Such is the price of progress.

The latest build includes a small change where encoding gets only used for attachment filenames that do not contain spaces, certain punctuation characters, or non-USASCII letters.
