Hello Everyone,
There has been several posts to this list concerning the "mysterious" change in file and directory ownership within user Maildir's bringing about an "http error of sqconfig.c line 63". Ken Jones of Inter7 offers this fix for the issue:
Email from Ken, dtd 2/6/2003:
"The fix is fairly simple.
1) chown vpopmail.vchkpw /var/www/cgi-bin/sqwebmail
2) chmod ug+s /var/www/cgi-bin/sqwebmail
3) chown -R vpopmail.vchkpw /var/cache/sqwebmail
Basicily the problem is sqwebmail runs as root. It is supposed
to switch user to vpopmail before doing any thing. Aparently
it creates those files as root sometimes.
The solution is to make sqwebmail run as vpopmail. So any
files it creates are owned by vpopmail. But it also needs access
to the "cache" directory that is normally owned by root or bin.
So, we change the ownership on the sqwebmail binary
make sure it runs set uid/gid for vpopmail.vchkpw
then change the permissions (-R recursive) on the "cache" directory."
Hope this helps those that were looking.
