Are you using vpopmail? If so, you'll need authvchkpw.

However, you'll probably want to configure it without authdaemon.

There seems to be a bug somewhere in the sqwebmail or vpopmail
code that causes authdaemon to break with authvchkpw.

How are you trying to authenticate? Having those modules installed doesn't
mean much if they aren't configured properly.
