If you want to use vpopmail, then yes, otherwise no.

OK. That's even more important.

Please read the INSTALL doc located in the root directory of the sqwebmail
distribution. Search it for '/etc/passwd' (or, if using vim: '/\/etc\/passwd').

You need the authuserdb module, definately. You might want to remove the other
auth modules with ./configure if you don't plan to use them.

I've never actually used the userdb module, so I can't help too much, but I'd
guess that you have to compile the flat files into databases or something.

'man -M /usr/local/share/sqwebmail/man userdb' will give you some additional
info on FreeBSD if you compiled from source. Not sure about Red Hat or any
other Linux 'man' command.

You should be able to figure out the problem from the above mentioned docs.

Let us know if you have any further problems (but try to solve it yourself
first). Reading docs is the name of the game in UNIX.
