I probably just wasn't clear enough on the issue.

The 'allvirtual' string will be preceded by an asterisk. The asterisk specifies that a 
special modifier is about to follow.
(allvirtual or vpopmail at this point)

Maybe that's a hokey way to implement it... but it made sense at the time, and I can't 
think of a real compelling reason to change
it.
