OK. If you can verify that there aren't multiple versions of vpopmail on your system then I'd be willing to say that this is probably a vpopmail bug. You probably have three options at this point: 1.) Download the latest vpopmail development version and see if it's fixed there. 2.) Look at the sqwebmail authvchkpw code and follow it out to the vpopmail code to see if you can find the bug yourself, then report it to the vpopmail mailing list. 3.) Subscribe to the vpopmail mailling list and harrass inter7 until you get an answer. If you're any good with C, option # 2 is probably the quickest. Otherwise it's a toss up whether or not it'll get fixed. The inter7 folks will probably ask you to take your questions to the sqwebmail mailing list.
