nor do you have the support resources to answer everybody calling and
asking about it.  Sure something on your website, or a mass mail, or
whatever might do the trick, but it should be able to be disabled :)

In this scenario, it almost seems that if you don't have any reason to
upgrade, don't.  Stick to an older version that doesn't have this icon.
