Although, I don't recall if Courier-IMAP can search across mailboxes or not. The IMAP "SEARCH" command may be restricted to searching the selected mailbox. I'm not sure. (Sam?? Does it do multi-box searching? -- Or do the clients handle that for themselves by firing off searches from within each folder?)
IMAP SEARCH works within a single mailbox only.
