Last message to this list was in July by the looks of it.  It does
look a bit dead, the Vpopmail list isn't that much better.

No, the system won't even build the configuration, so I don't even get
as far as doing the make install.  There are no other packages using
authdaemon on the system - I installed it exclusively for use with
Sqwebmail.  I may end up having to go back to a pre 5.0 build of
SQWebmail which has the authdaemon code already in the source package.
I prefer IMP to, however, this is a dr server for an existing
SQWebmail setup, and we don't do IMAP, and if we did, we would
probably have to go down the courier-imap road, meaning the same issue
with authdaemon, as it is the process which authenticates via
Vpopmail, and tells the server where the mail is stored.

Actually thinking on this I may try running a configure on the source
of courier-imap tomorrow, to see if I get the same error, or wether it
is a problem with the configure script in the SQWebmail package I
downloaded (latest official release).  I don't have to build it, after
all.  As I said, I am pritty confident the authdaemon is working.
