The more I think about it, I also remember having a hell of a time getting
courier-imap to work. This is going back about 3+ years, and I was working
on RH 7.3, but I think I resolved it by reverting to a previous rev of
Courier. Since then, that server has been retired, and I don't know what
version I ended up using, but it was like one or two revs old . . . I wish
you luck.

Last message to this list was in July by the looks of it. It does
look a bit dead, the Vpopmail list isn't that much better.

No, the system won't even build the configuration, so I don't even get
as far as doing the make install. There are no other packages using
authdaemon on the system - I installed it exclusively for use with
Sqwebmail. I may end up having to go back to a pre 5.0 build of
SQWebmail which has the authdaemon code already in the source package.
I prefer IMP to, however, this is a dr server for an existing
SQWebmail setup, and we don't do IMAP, and if we did, we would
probably have to go down the courier-imap road, meaning the same issue
with authdaemon, as it is the process which authenticates via
Vpopmail, and tells the server where the mail is stored.

Actually thinking on this I may try running a configure on the source
of courier-imap tomorrow, to see if I get the same error, or wether it
is a problem with the configure script in the SQWebmail package I
downloaded (latest official release). I don't have to build it, after
all. As I said, I am pritty confident the authdaemon is working.

Thanks.
Andrew.
