So, in 1.x was: $avp(x) := 123; Now it has to be: $(avp(x)[*]) = 123; You get also same behaviour when assigning $null like it was when doing ':= null' The rest of the operators like +=, -+ ... were supported by grammar but not really implemented, they were doing simply assignment.
