On a tangential thought the date of birth is also in a way the date of death or expected date of death. In some states for girls to mention date of birth at the time of matriculation examination was optional. Parents reduce the age of their child while admitting them to school. The irony of this act is seen years later when colleagues would address them as uncles/aunts. That is the beauty of the date of birth. It is a normal practice that at the time of admission in the college the date of birth written on the matriculation certificate is verified first.
