I have exactly the same problem. I'm running a FreeBSD 3.0 machine and I'm
using it as a gateway with 192.168.* in the intranet side and an Internet
IP-address on the other using a cablemodem and two network cards. I've
installed sshd on numerous other machines before and never had these
problems for some reason or other ;-(

- I've edited the host.conf file
- I've played with sshd_conf
- I've re-installed ssh / sshd
- I've become desperate! ;-)

It isn't a big problem as such, but natd throws up after about 2 days,
which makes the server unreachable and causes the mail to overload the
fallback mailserver. That *is* a problem ;-)

Could anyone please tell me how to keep this annoying (configuration) bug
from driving me insane?

The person who helps me solve this problem awaits a large bottle of Dutch
Heineken! (Serious ;-)

Thanks in advance,
