Hi,
This could be a problem that bit me a week ago. There is a problem in gcc
that will not always compile asm statements correctly. See the following
site: http://gcc.gnu.org/faq.html#asmclobber
It's mostly about Linux, but I had the problem on an AIX box. The solution
was to do a make distclean and then re-run ./configure with the
--disable-asm argument. The problem is actually badly written asm macro
statements.
