Hi,

Im new to openssh, so this is potentially a newbie
question perhaps answered before. I searched the
archive but couldnt see though a similar problem..

I already compiled openssl and openssh on a redhat 6.1
with no problems. When i tried logging via ssh, I find
it weird that only root is accepted (I have
PermitRootLogin yes), and other users are denied with
the error on my logs:

May 27 02:53:26 max sshd[2210]: Failed password for
user from <ip address> port 1203

Of course, the password is correct. I tried explicitly
allowing users using the AllowUsers directive, but
still no luck. What could have i missed? I disabled
pam support, but i think it's alright as root password
is accepted.

I'd appreciate your tips/hints on this one. Thank you
very much.

Omar Cromwell Mercado
