Dear Aldo, Sean, FAQ maintainer, and all others,

I admit this is a tad old but I was away for a couple of weeks. Also,
there seem to be no further replies, at least under the same subject
heading, so let's have a look:

If this indeed is the case, you can't use ssh to secure the connection.

Note that this uses raw, unencrypted, unprotected, untunneled X.

You are right... in what you say first.

It is not possible to forward XDMCP over ssh, because it uses UDP, not
TCP. I guess this should be a frequently asked question, and while it
would fit nicely within the section 5.5 that discusses forwarding other
UDP-based services, maybe it should have a section of its own so as to
stand out better in the table of contents. This is assuming, of course,
that somebody actually reads the FAQ sometimes, which is a very broad
assumption...

If you want the PC to look like an X terminal, you can't do this securely.

But maybe you'll be able to start dtwm manually after having logged in,
if your X server on the PC allows you to use a window manager on the
remote end instead of using Windows for that purpose. I seem to remember
eXceed used to allow this, but it's a good while since I did anything
with Windows, so I'm not so sure about the current breed.
