nm is in one of the development packages in Solaris.  it'll end up under
/usr/ccs/bin.

if you don't have nm, you also likely don't have ld, as, header files, etc.

nm, BTW, is a tool that lists off information about a compiled object
(typically to list off functions that are available in a .o or library file.)
