Uh, I realize that there are a lot of us clueless types out here, but...
Have you *tried* removing yourself from this list? More specifically,
have you tried removing yourself from this list when your email
address has changed?
I have.
If you follow the instructions on the web page. You get told
that you're not subscribed (reasonable, since you now have a
different address). No clue is given about what to do next.
But if you know enough about the type of list server being
used to actually send the correct command to unsubscribe
a different email address you get back a response that
(reasonably) informs you that you request is being forwarded
to the list administrator to verify the request.
The last time I tried that was 5 days ago. Still no
response from the administrator and I see I'm still here.
I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the clueless are
simply trying a louder way to get someone to kick them off
after the "proper" way has failed...
I haven't reached that point yet, but it's getting tempting.
Guess I'll just have to killfile the list - seems like a
sad way to get "off" a list.
