Chris,
Something "sheilded", by that I mean something with radial
reinforcement such as fiber, or even an external sheild such as SS mesh,
but that's going a bit far. If you can find just the right match, you
could even take common rubber tube and encase it in a coil spring. In
desperation you could even wrap a rubber tube in say a nylon string or
monofilament.
Just as important as the tube are the connections. My experience has
been that it is just as likely for a slip-on connection, even a barb &
clamp, to come off as for the tube to burst so the more secure you can make
these the better off you are.
The most common occurrence of tubes bursting or connections failing is
when there is a hand pump in combination with an axle pump with a by-pass
circulation system. Even a very small hand pump can momentarily produce
several 100psi and if someone has forgotten to open the by-pass valve and
they try to pump against a closed line the tube and connections don't stand
a chance.
