Hi,
The day started as usual, you know the drill, the 5 s's, then to the kitchen to
put on the coffee. A b'day gift of Godiva vanilla/hazlenut coffee was put to
perk. Gave Lunk his morning meds and went out to the screen porch (aka Florida
Room) to get him his breakfast. Turned on the floodlights for the back yard,
and was wonderfully surprised to find out you could just barely see the Ga 1
elevated track out there. DENSE GROUND FOG!!!!
The Aristo Mikado had been fueled, lubed, etc the night before and was on the
carrier at the ready track. Slide the switch to ignite, push the button - and
it's making hot water.
By the time the coffee is ready, so is the Mike. Easily moved to the main line
and coupled to a string of beer cars, and off she went. With the dense fog, and
thus 99.999% relative humidity, the exhaustfrom the loco hung over the track
and was motionless. What was really great was to see the loco go around the
250' distorted dog bone track and catch up to it's own steam plume!!!!
It really can't get much better than this, but hopefully tomorrow morning will
be a repeat.
Our best wishes to all for a happy holiday season.
May you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the steamup this morning.
Keep your steam up!
Walt & Mr. Lunkenheimer
