Glen and I just tried to make reservations and were told that the Tuesday
and Thursday are both overbooked at the Lion's Gate and no rooms or cabins
(houses) are available. That's not a big deal for us as we were just trying
to move across town to be a bit closer, but it doesn't bode well for
everyone else. Other than the Lion's Gate, any hotels very near McClellan
would not be recommended due to the amount of hourly/night traffic...
However, there is a nice Days Inn at I-80 and Watt Avenue. It is actually
on a side street, so the address will not reflect the location well.
Unfortunately, it is about a mile and a half or so south of McClellan Park.
There is a newer Motel Six across Watt Avenue from the Days Inn. Hope this
helps...
