Mobil Oil sells 600W "Super Cylinder Oil" which is specifically made for steam cylinders and is even rated for superheated steam. It is an ISO 460 weight oil, and it does contain tallow. I believe the smallest quantity you can buy it in is a 5 gallon pail. But if you get together with several live steamers, or even someone with a steam tractor, you can split the purchase among several people. This is the longest continuously produced product in the Mobil range, dating back to a predecessor firm the Vacuum Oil Co. Keith
