Some additional interesting details. Commit b398aa31 causes this bug[0]
in v3.5.3. However, the commit was also applied to v3.6-rc1(Commit
b246dd5d, which was actually cherry-picked for v3.5.3). However,
testing has shown that the bug does not seem to happen in v3.6.
