Historically this has always been allowed, and in fact there are some situations where it has been required. For example, transports that use "/registered" for subscriptions would depend on this, and they may even still be deployed. Like my other mail, "MUST NOT" is too strong then. We could go with "SHOULD NOT" if we want to attempt to deprecate the feature. I agree that in general this ability is mostly confusing as heck. It's kind of an interesting geek feature, but it shouldn't be required by anyone to get anything done. -Justin
