There were several fixes before posted in the ticket, which all had side effects. That ticket was open for more than a year, someone eventually removed the milestone and said we won't fix it as we'd have to change even expat for it. I don't know what your fix does, but it seemed that expat had to be used in non-namespace-aware-mode which would mean even some python stuff would have been needed to be rewritten. What way did you chose? As you can see, it's clearly more problematic for the client than for the server, for example ejabberd had a fix ready after the bug was open for 2 days or so. -- Jonathan
