Your question is related to XML-RPC itself, not Jabber-RPC. I suggest
that you contact Dave Winer, the inventor of XML-RPC. Dave was present
in the room when Jabber-RPC was created (at the JabberCon in Keystone,
Colorado during the summer of 2001), and as far as I can recall he
didn't say anything about patents over XML-RPC.
