You are right that example 7 has a copy and paste error...

This:

recv: <db:verify
          from='target.tld'
          id='D60000229F'
          to='sender.tld'
          type='invalid'>
     </db:verify>

Should be:

recv: <db:verify
          from='sender.tld'
          id='D60000229F'
          to='target.tld'
          type='valid'>
     </db:verify>

Fixed in source control.
