> 1. Is this specification needed to fill gaps in the XMPP protocol stack or > to clarify an existing protocol? >
Yes. Real-time text has been a communication mode of choice for many deaf and hard of hearing people, as well as people in the mainstream, and it has been disconcerting to see it disappear in many mainstream apps. XEP-0301 will do much to bring it back front and center. > 2. Does the specification solve the problem stated in the introduction and > requirements? > Yes. > 3. Do you plan to implement this specification in your code? If not, why > not? > Yes. In fact, we already implemented it, and a demo is available at http://tap.gallaudet.edu/rtt/. The implementation will be released under the Apache 2.0 license. > 4. Do you have any security concerns related to this specification? > No. > 5. Is the specification accurate and clearly written? > Yes. One of the best-written technical specs I have worked with.
